All thanks and praises are due to Allah, the One and Only Creator of everything. May Allah’s peace and blessing be upon His Messenger, Muhammad, salla-llahu alaihi wa-sallam, and upon his pure household. May Allah be pleased with all of Muhammad’s companions and with all those who follow their righteous lead, until the Day of Resurrection.Allah blessed Madinah Center, Windsor Locks, Connecticut, to hold its second educational seminar since it opened doors in May of 2007. Bother Abu Khalil, Jad Sylvistor, drove from Alabama to Connecticut to hold a seminar on Sunan Ibn Majah, which he translated for Darussalam Publishers, along with the three other Sunan which he also translated.
The seminar lasted for three days (9-11 of January, 2009) during which Brother Abu Khalil gave three beneficial lectures after `Isha on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. Abu Khalil also gave the explanation and recitation of Hadeeth narrations from Kitab as-Sunnah, the introduction to Sunan Ibn Majah, on Saturday and Sunday mornings. More than 50 brothers and sisters attended these classes, even though the weather was very cold amid a severe snowstorm that dumped several inches of snow on the state of Connecticut. Some of the brothers drove from New Jersey and Massachusetts. Many of them spent the entire weekend at the center.
The seminar was very beneficial as those who attended it testified. I also benefited from the seminar and the classes and would like to hold others like it Inshaallah in the near future.
I ask Allah to give His best reward to Brother Abu Khalil for his continuing efforts to translate the books of Sunnah to English and for his efforts in teaching these and other books of Sunnah to English speaking audiences. We do not have many good teachers left who call to the Sunnah in this land.
I also ask Allah to reward all those who attended the classes and seminar, and would like to say to those who, without a valid excuse, missed the activity, “You do not know what you have missed!”
All thanks and praises are due to Allah, and may Allah’s peace and blessing be upon His Messenger, Muhammad, salla-llahu alaihi wa-sallam.
